How to deal with set back

Have you ever felt so sorry for yourself when you didn’t get the job you wanted? Or you didn’t win what you worked so hard for? The feeling of a real set back makes me sad, but how do I claps back from that?

First allow yourself to have a moment to just be sad and hang in the couch the whole evening without doing anything. Sometimes you just have to let your emotions go, am I right? A good cry can already bring so much relieve. It feels like you are letting everything go and don’t keep any emotions in. Yes you might cry or scream like you’ve never did before, but sometimes it helps.

But we can’t sit there forever crying about how sad our life is. I give myself one evening but you might need two or three, but eventually you have to get your shit back together. The first question: ‘Is there anything I can do for creating the outcome that I would’ve wanted in the first place?’. Yes? Start doing it right away. If you can’t change it, then it is time to move on. Moving on is a process of days, weeks, months, depending on each situation. The point is that it won’t happen overnight and you’ll have to put some energy into it.

It does all sounds easier than it is, BE PREPARED TO FEEL ALL YOUR EMOTIONS. Yes, this has to be said in all caps because it is dramatic. How do I know? I’m going through it right when I’m writing this.
