Corinne, how do you do it all, how do you find balance in life? Your multiple jobs, social media, website, gym, and social life,… For everyone new to the blog: Hi I’m Corinne. I have a full-time job as a marketing consultant, I work in a nightclub and a restaurant. I have this blog and post on social media daily. But how do I find balance in my life?
If you struggle to find balance, no worries, I have been there. I just work, work, work and didn’t have any time for friends or family. Now I work even more but smarter. I started by making sure I didn’t work until midnight during the week so I had enough rest for the next day.
Sleep is important because it helps you be more productive and happier. When I’m well rested I’m an angel, when I’m sleep deprived you better run for your life. So ladies and gentlemen that 7-8 hours of sleep a night ain’t a joke.
Secondly, I started working in a nightclub, why? I wanted to do that in my life and now I see so many benefits. Sleep goes a bit out of the window during the weekend. I work from 11 PM – 6 AM, and after that I sleep until 12 PM. Which is still a good amount of sleep but not great. After that, I still have the entire afternoon to spend with family and friends.
The social life, FOMO. I used to have FOMO so badly and I got so sad when friends would meet up but I couldn’t make it or wasn’t invited… But today I couldn’t give a flying f*ck. Why? Because in the long run, catching up with friends isn’t going to benefit me every time. I decided I wanted to surround myself with like-minded people. People who thrive together stay together! Yes, I do still have non-like-minded friends which I love very deeply, but we don’t talk on a daily basis.
I talk about productivity so often. What are you with 12 hours in a day if you only use 50% of it usefully? You don’t need to work 8 hours a day on your side hustle. You need to work the small amount of time you have but do this usefully.
And that ladies and gentlemen is how I combine 3 jobs, a side hustle and my social life. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
Let's talk!
