Goalsetting for 2024

It is almost a new year and that means new goals to reach. Goalsetting looks easy but if you do it right it takes some time. Goalsetting in the right way helps you to achieve those goals more easily. I will take you through those steps and give you a spreadsheet that you can use. The main element you have to take from this article is that you should create to-do’s / steps to take for each goal. But it all will become clear.

Goalsetting: your main goals

Let’s first create our main goals. What do you want to achieve in 2024. This is the first step of the goalsetting process. How do you create main goals? Let’s start by using one of the most common goal-setting tools: SMART.

  • S: Specific
  • M: Measurable
  • A: Acceptable
  • R: Realistic
  • T: Time

If you keep those 5 elements in mind your goals will be easier to reach. Let me give you an example: ‘By the end of 2024 I want this blog to create a small monthly income of about €50/month’

Goalsetting: your main goals

Now it is time to create a number of tasks and habits that will get you closer to your goals. Why is this important? It gives you daily, weekly, or even monthly guidance. You can also add smaller milestones to reach along the way. By doing that you allow yourself to celebrate the effort you already put in. Let me go further into my example.

To-do’s:

  • Post a weekly article
  • Create a new downloadable every month
  • Promote your blog on Instagram

Milestones:

  • Have 200 monthly readers
  • Have a total of 500 downloads

Now we get into the needy and greedy. I created an easy-to-use spreadsheet where you can fill in all those items and keep track of your progress, by doing that you can keep yourself motivated to work towards your end goal. Goalsetting isn’t always easy but in the end, it is so worth it.
